"Watch those titbits"

This is Pippa, enjoying the recent snow, having recovered well from a life threatening illness before Christmas.
Pippa is a eight year old female Miniature Schnauzer, who came in with vomiting, diarheoa and a very painful abdomen.
Tests revealed she had acute pancreatitis. This is a serious condition which Schnauzers as a breed are predisposed to.
Another predisposing factor is being overweight and being fed a high fat diet.
Pippa was immediately put on an intravenous fluids, painkillers and various other medication.
She gradually improved on the next few days and she was sent home on a low fat diet to prevent a recurrence, which is common.
If you want to check your pets weight, please pop into the surgery during consulting hours.
